Show Manager, Miami International Boat Show
Cathy was born and raised in the great state of Montana, where it was learned early on that hard work was part of life. A graduate of Montana State University with a Bachelor of Science, opportunity knocked and Cathy relocated to New York City, where she began her career with the National Marine Manufacturers Association. Working her way through various positions, including Registration Manager, she was promoted to Operations Manager for NMMA’s northeast based shows (New York, Philadelphia, PA, Norwalk, CT, and Norfolk, VA). In 1991, she was promoted to show manager for the Tampa Boat Show, where she was responsible for both shows (Tampa Boat Show & Florida State Boat & Sports Show). She was named Southern Regional Manager in 1995, which included a move to Miami and named Vice President of Southern Show in 2007.
In 2009, Cathy Rick-Joule became the Vice President of the Boat Shows division and is currently responsible for the management of the Miami International Boat Show and oversees the markets that include the Atlanta Boat Show, Atlantic City Boat Show, Baltimore Boat Show, New England Boat Show, New York Boat Show, Norwalk Boat Show, Strictly Sail Chicago, Strictly Sail Miami, and the Tampa Boat Show. Cathy is active in the industry as a member of the IFBSO (International Federation of Boat Show Organizers), NMTC (National Marine Trade Council), IAEE (International Association of Exhibitions & Events) and NACS (National Association of Consumers Shows). She is also active in the community having served as Chairperson for the Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board and currently serving on the Board of the Greater Miami Beaches & The Hotel Association and the Board of the Miami Beach Convention Center Expansion Steering Committee.
